This is for any business that is being operated from the home. It’s often difficult to get the word out about your business and traditional advertising is often outside of your budget. This is a very inexpensive way to promote your business and sell your products or services. You may only advertise your products and not any business opportunities. The business opportunities can only be listed in the Business Opportunity category. If you list any where else then the ad will be deleted without refund. You have up to 250 words to describe what you’re selling and can include up to three photos. You have a choice of two packages either weekly or monthly.
Retail Business: $20/mo or $10/wk
To be honest with you, if I were a retailer this would be the only way I would advertise. This is a very inexpensive way to advertise your business. Why? Because you get to introduce our visitors to products that you sell at your store. You use your discontinued, slow moving, or clearance items to get people to your store. People who normally might never visit your store. You have up to 250 words to describe what you’re selling and can include up to three photos. Retail Business Graphic Banners
Packrat Classifieds uses a sophisticated banner rotation script to ensure your banner gets seen. Each time a visitor goes to a new page on Packrat the banners are refreshed and showing new banners. You can have your banners linked to your website or if you don’t have a website you can simply provide your offer and have us link it to a map identifying how they can locate you. Or, we can create a coupon that visitors can print and use when visiting your business.
All ads are on a Paypal subscription. Your account will automatically be credited each month to ensure that your advertising continues uninterrupted. We only have a limited number of ad spots and when they're gone -- they're gone.
Your banner should be in JPG format. Our graphics department can create a stunning results oriented banner for additional $25. Animated banners are only $10 more. BTW: During our GRAND OPENING we’re create a banner for your business if you choose the monthly plan instead of weekly one.

Dirty Rat Exclusive #1: $99/mo
You know the problem with placing your ad in the phone book? All of your competitors are also placing their ad in the phone book. The ad your spending so much money and depending upon to generate business for you is being lost in a sea of competitors. What if you could eliminate the competition? What if you were the only one being listed?
That’s what the "Dirty Rat Exclusive" is all about. For $99/mo you have the exclusive. What does this mean to you? It means that if you’re Ceasar’s Pizza and want to freeze out Domino’s and Pappa John’s, you can do it! They can’t advertise on our site (unless they already have an ad in which case as soon as their ad expires that month it won't be renewed until you cancel your exclusive). They have to advertise some where else where they’re constantly competing against each other.
Think of what this would mean to you if you were a Dry Cleaner, Florist, Dentist, Chiropractor, Gym, Health Food Store, etc.. The only ads that our visitors would see, for your category, is yours.
To protect your interest position we use Paypal subscription for this service. Translation: Every month you're ad will be paid for automatically via Paypal until you cancel. This ensures that you don't accidentally forget to renew your exclusive and that the competition doesn't sneak in and take it away from you. These ads appear on most of the pages.
Packrat Sponsor #2: $50/wk Plus
What is a Packrat Sponsor? You'll be at the top position of the first page of the site where everyone will see you. And, your banner will be posted in a top position of nearly every page on the site. You will be the only business featured in this ad spot. Your banner will be linked to either your website or a map to your business location. What is the "PLUS"?
Each week we give away a prize worth $50 or more to one of our visitors for helping us to grow. You’ll be providing the prize for the week you’re a sponsor for Packrat Classifieds. This can be a piece of jewelry if you’re a jeweler, an Ipod if you’re a consumer electronics store, dinner for two if you’re a restaurant or whatever helps the visitor to identify your business.
This gets you a lot of exposure because everyone wants to win something for free. And, the person who wins the prize must go to your business to pick up their prize. This produces a lot of "word of mouth" advertising for you.
Savvy sponsors will also offer a discount coupon to all participants. This way you can cash-in on the excitement you're producing. Example: Free Steak Dinner with purchase of a dinner of equal value. Or, free massage. Or, free pair of shoes with purchase of another pair of equal value. Let your imagination run free. Remember, only those who are qualified buyers are coming to your business. No more paying $3000 for a coupon book ad being given to people not interested in your product or service.
You'll discover this is always listed as "SOLD OUT". This is because we choose the sponsor. Email us for qualifications and to be placed on our list.
This ad spot is not about selling an ad spot to make a profit. If that’s all there was to it, we’d sell the ad spot for $99/wk and be done with it. Instead, it’s about marketing. About finding sponsors who offer a product or service that our visitors have an interest in, will create excitement and who are offering a prize that has real perceived value.
In other words, if you’re offering a free powerstrip as your prize that isn’t enough to generate excitement or "word of mouth" advertising for you. However, if you’re offering a free Ipod that would create a lot of excitement and "word of mouth" advertising for you.
If you’re chosen as a Packrat Sponsor we’ll first have to know what it is that you’ll be offering and for a photo of the item. You’ll also have to demonstrate that you have it available and ready to give to the winner when the winner is announced. These ads appear on most of the pages.
Mouse Tails (468x60 Graphic Banner) #3: $50/mo
This is graphic banner is just below the Category. It’s a high profile area sure to receive a lot of exposure. It is for those who choose not to take advantage of the Dirty Rat Exclusive or the Packrat Sponsorship. You’ll find national advertisers such as Southwest Bell, Verizon, Sony Electronics, and consumer electronics giant Ubid. These ads appear on most of the pages.
Packrat Traps (160x160 Graphic Banner) #4: $35/mo
This is the first graphic banner on the left side of each page. Your banner will rotate on the page with other advertisers who have also purchased a banner in that spot. National advertisers such as GameFly and Ubid have their ads in this ad spot. These ads appear on most of the pages.
Packrat Traps (125x125 Text Banner) #5: $35/mo
This is the text banner on the left side, immediately below the Packrat Trap Graphic Banner. If you click on refresh you’ll see these ads are rotated and the color changes. We recommend that your text ad be no longer than 25 words. Start with a good headline. Give them a reason to click on your ad and visit your website or store. These ads appear on most of the pages.
Packrat Traps 2 (160x160 Graphic Banner) #6: $20/mo
This is the second graphic banner on the left side of each page. Your banner will rotate on the page with other advertisers who have also purchased a banner in that spot. This is an excellent spot for home based and small businesses. These ads only appear on the first page.

This is the second text banner on the left side, immediately below the Packrat Trap 2 Graphic Banner. If you click on refresh you’ll see these ads are rotated and the color changes. IMPORTANT
It’s important to note that you are responsible for choosing the correct AdSpot Plan for your business and that you place your ad in an appropriate category. In other words, if you’re a home based business offering a business opportunity and purchase an ad spot and place your ad in the motorcycle section, it will be terminated without a refund.
It’s critically important that our visitors be able to locate what they’re looking for. If there are ads which are not appropriate for a category then visitors will stop using our classifieds. Be sure to read our Terms of Service for details. We want to make sure that all of our advertisers get real value for their advertising dollars. The best way to do this is to ruthlessly enforce this rule. In most case, we will contact you about placing your ad in the appropriate category.
